The real estate market in Tallahassee is composed of primarily single-family detached homes but does have some condominium and townhouse properties. New three-bedroom, two-bath entry level homes can be purchased between the low $100,000s to the mid-$100,000s. A typical three-bedroom home with two-baths can be acquired at just under $275,000, many times with acreage. Slightly bigger homes with four-bedrooms and three-baths can be purchased at less than $400,000. Larger estate properties with five-bedrooms or more can be purchased from the low $500,000s to several million dollars. There are also scattered opportunities to own vacant residential lots and acreage. A residential lot can be purchased at as little as $30,000 and in surrounding areas when purchasing five or more acres from around $5,000 per acre. Horse properties, lakefront homes and homes in gated communities are also available.

Tallahassee Real Estate Stats and Trends for the week of April 13th, 2015: homes priced around $110,695 compared to $69,380 the previous week, showing a increase of more than +37%.  For Sunday, March 24th, the current national mortgage rate for a 30 year fixed mortgage is 4.51%; the 15 year fixed rate is at 3.90%. For a loan larger than conventional conforming loans, or 'jumbo' loan, the 30 year rate is 4.41%, while the 15 year jumbo rate currently is at 4.12%.
